One of our regular customers at Taller Posible, an architect, had suggested her client to set up a Japanese-style tea room in her new home, which was still being built.

A set of four individual and two double lounge chairs were ordered. White oak was selected to match the upcoming veneered paneling.

The design had to be simple and show the beauty of the highly-priced material.

I felt the chairs needed to have clear support points for stability so I came up with the big-radio arch, present in Japanese architecture and furniture design. It was replicated on the backrest and structure to have this distinctive detail in sight from any viewpoint.
